Chemical Reactions

Chemical Reactions, Suggested Grades: 6-9

This introductory videoconference to chemical reactions teaches students about the types of reactions as they are demonstrated in fun and intriguing experiments. Core concepts such as 'What's a chemical reaction?' 'What is matter"?, chemical change vs physical change, and what is happening during a chemical reaction are covered. We break this down for the students as we discuss atoms, bonds, compounds, products, reactants, conservation of matter and exothermic/endothermic reactions. Students also learn techniques and skills to balance equations.
